St. Julian Celebrates Several Award Wins from the 2024 Michigan Governor's Cup Awards

Paw Paw, Mich. – St. Julian Winery & Distillery, Michigan’s most-awarded winery, celebrates another highly-awarded year in the 2024 Michigan Governor's Cup Awards.

The Michigan Governor’s Cup Awards is a unique wine competition that is hosted in partnership between the Beverage Tasting Institute and the Michigan Wine Collaborative. This statewide competition, now in its second year, utilizes a series of professional blind tastings to rate and rank a set of Michigan produced wines, meads, and ciders.

St. Julian received the Best of Category and gold medal for its St. Julian Braganini Reserve Harvest Select Vignoles within the Sweet category as well as the Best of Category and gold medal for its St. Julian Braganini Reserve Cabernet Franc in the Vinifera Red category.

“Winning these awards is validation of our winemaking philosophy and our commitment to producing wines that are not only delicious, but also authentic and true to our region's heritage,” expresses Nancie Oxley, Vice President of Winemaking. “Our team is passionate about crafting wines that can stand on their own merit. To have our efforts recognized is a huge honor and a testament to the quality and consistency of our wines.”

In addition, St. Julian Braganini Reserve Mountain Road Riesling and St. Julian Braganini Reserve Cabernet Franc were announced as Full Governor's Cup Case Winners. St. Julian also honorably received 17 silver medal and seven bronze medal wine recognitions between its Braganini Reserve line and other wine offerings.

“The entire St. Julian team is celebrating the result of this competition," shares Apollo Braganini II, President of St. Julian Winery & Distillery. "We are very proud to be carrying on the legacy of our winery's founders and look forward to continuing to produce award-winning wines that delight and inspire our customers."

Many of the wines submitted to this year’s competition were originally St. Julian Wine Club wines, which are exclusive just for club members. Wine Club Members receive exclusive access to these award-winning wines, some of which are never released to the general public due to limited availability.
